Young Teachers Section:

The NUT Young Teachers Section committee will be meeting on the first Thursday of every month at the Boathouse. All (NUT) teachers are welcome to join us to discuss NUT Young Teachers Section activities. More details are posted on the Peterborough Young Teachers Facebook page.

 

Up and Coming Events

 

NUT Young Teachers Conference. The division council have agreed to fund up to 5 local young teachers (<35) to attend the Young Teachers Conference in February 2012. If you are interested in attending, please contact Deborah Watson via the facebook page, or let our regional officers know or email Alan Davies (Treasurer) on adavies007@aol.com. Travel will also be funded.

 


Who is your Young Teachers Rep?

Deborah Watson - Peterborough's Young Teacher Representative for the NUT is just finishing her fourth year of teaching having qualified as a primary school teacher at the University of Cambridge. She taught for a short time in Madrid before returning to Peterborough where she now works at a local primary school. She has been involved with the Young Teachers committee since 2009 and also recently took on the role of NUT representative at her school. She has been involved in various NUT and NQT events and campaigns in Peterborough, and took part in workshops and seminars during last year's Young Teachers Conference. She was elected by Peterborough's NUT committee as 'Peterborough's Young Teachers Representative' in March 2011.
